Rene Rawls is a Los Angeles based screenwriter whose award winning projects have been acknowledged by various programs.  She was the recipient of the Guy Hanks & Marvin Miller Screenwriting Fellowship, sponsored by Drs. Camille and Bill Cosby.  She was one of six writers (Screenplay Category) selected for the Tribeca All Access Connects Program, and she gained entry into Film Independent's program, Project:Involve.   She has also participated in the Producers Guild Diversity Workshop.

On numerous occasions, producers have sought to option Rene's scripts, including Lilith Memorial, Homecoming Queen, and Get to the Back of the Line.  She received the 1st Annual Mandela Day/Tribeca All Access Award for her script Sule and the Case of the Tiny Sparks, which was produced.  This project has screened at Brooklyn Kids Film Festival; Belize International Film Festival; and the Montreal International Black Film Festival where it was crowned Best Animated Short:
